As Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams-TTD, which administers Sri Balaji Temple in Tirupati Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, has decided to auction 23 of its immovable properties, including house sites and agriculture land, at different places in Tamil Nadu, resulting in a hue and cry being raised over the sales. The total bidding value of the 23 properties has been fixed at a little over Rs 1.54 Cr. TTD Board of Trustees that met on 29th February, resolved to dispose of the immovable properties, which are unviable and not maintainable by TTD, through public auction.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government is facing censure from Lord Venkateshwara devotees, Hindu traditionalists, and TDP, Jana Sena Party, etc.
BJP saw it as an “anti-Hindu” move. As we all know, after aligning with the ruling BJP, Pawan Kalyan has become quite vocal about various issues about Hindus. Now Pawan Kalyan has taken up the TTD property auction issue.
Pawan Kalyan urged the AP government and the TTD to back off from their plans to sell off TTD properties.
Pawan Kalyan took to his Twitter and wrote, “I request all Lord Balaji Devotees, Janasainiks, Veermahilas and JSP Leaders to participate in this hunger protest against the sale of TTD lands by Andhra Pradesh Govt.”
Pawan Kalyan's views could have forced the AP govt to put its earlier order to sell TTD properties in abeyance say, observers. He had met BJP president JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah before the lockdown.
According to sources, Pawan Kalyan is seen as a rising star in Andhra politics, and given his support base, his views are taken seriously by the government and other political parties.
