Mrs. Nara Bhuvaneshwari Inaugurates Anna Canteen Amidst 'Nijam Gelavali' Programme
Nara Bhuvaneshwari, wife of TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu, commemorated the launch of an Anna canteen in Gudupalle, Kuppam constituency, on Tuesday. As part of her 'Nijam Gelavali' initiative, aimed at comforting families affected by Chandrababu Naidu's arrest, she extended solace to the kin of deceased TDP worker Venkatesh in Kodathana Palli and Srinivasulu in Yamaganipalli, providing them with financial assistance. Bhuvaneshwari expressed delight at the canteen's opening, highlighting its role in addressing local hunger needs.
The Anna canteens, introduced by Naidu in 2018, aimed to provide affordable meals to the underprivileged, serving 2.25 lakh people daily across 364 canteens statewide. However, the YSRCP administration closed and demolished these canteens, escalating tensions by targeting TDP members associated with them. Undeterred, TDP leaders now oversee 150 operational canteens, with Nara Lokesh managing four in Mangalagiri constituency.
Reflecting on Naidu's 53-day incarceration and the challenges faced by Kuppam residents, Bhuvaneshwari affirmed the TDP's commitment to serving the community despite adversities. MLC K. Srikanth and other party dignitaries joined her during the event.
