Spice girls Reunion for 2019 – Viva Forever
The Spice Girls have finally announced a long awaited reunion tour for 2019, with six performances currently revealed for Manchester, Coventry, Sunderland, Edinburgh, Bristol and London.
They made the announcement on Monday with the news that Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice) and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) will all return to the stage together, while Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) has opted not to rejoin the band that elevated its members to the rank of cultural icons in the mid-1900s.
Victoria Beckham made a statement saying “Being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish my girls so much love and fun as they go back on tour, I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful life”.
The tour will begin on 1st June, 2019 featuring a special guest Jess Glynne in Manchester and will continue to Coventry, Sunderland, Edinburgh and Bristol before finishing at Wembley Stadium in London on June 15, 2019.
The group said in a statement “We are beyond excited to be reuniting next year for a stadium tour. Bringing girl power and our message of friendship and love back to the stage feels more relevant than ever. We hope everyone can join us for one big Spice Girl’s party!”
The tickets will go on sale this Saturday as there is no plan of pre-sales.
In February, when the five women shared a reunion photo, the fans began to anticipate a reunion. Beckham always maintained that it was just a fun lunch, but according to TMZ reports, the group got back together with their manager Simon Fuller with plans for reunion.
During New York Fashion Week, Victoria Beckham said that she is not going on tour and neither are the girls. In contradiction, Melanie Brown, the host of America’s Got Talent said that they will definitely be touring in June. On Today show, Scary Spice also told Hoda Kotb regarding Beckham’s insistence to the contrary that “she’s always bloody saying that. Stop it! We are touring!”
During Halloween, Melanie Brown appeared in a Posh Spice get up in New York with a sign that read, “No I am not going on tour”. Gary Madatyan, who dressed as David Beckham joined Melanie Brown with his own sign that read “Please please please do it for the Spice fans B ___ “.
