Runs on board won the game - Kohli
India has sealed a memorable win in Trent Bridge test by defeating England with a 203 run victory.
India were 2-0 down after the first two tests and by winning the third tests they have kept the series alive. Kohli said putting the runs on the board helped in securing the win.
At the post-match presentation, Kohili said "We only spoke about the fact that we were outplayed in only one test out of the last five overseas, which was at Lords and there was no need for us to change anything because Birmingham was so close"
This was an all-around performance by team India. Openers laid the foundation in both the innings by having 60 runs stand in the 2 outings. Kohli, Rahane scored half centuries, while Ishant took 5 wickets in the first innings. In the second innings Kohli scored a century, Pujara and Hardik scored half-centuries while Bumrah picked up 5 wickets.
This is a very rare instance that 3 India fast bowlers have taken a 5-wicket haul in the series. With this win, Kohli is now second on the list of captains with most test wins for India and with his win-loss of the ratio of over 3 he is 4th on the list.
