Mayank Agarwal or Prithvi Shaw?
India will be going into the West Indies series with a new set of openers after the axing of Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan with a disastrous series in England for the Indian Openers.
Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw have been called up to the team and one of them is set to debut and open the batting alongside KL Rahul. Prithvi Shaw was called up for the England tour and most were expecting him to make his debut in the 5th test of the England series.
Both Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw are in very good form scoring heavily and at a strike rate of over 70. Both of them average near or more 50. Agarwal has scored over 2800 runs in the last 30 innings. While Shaw has in excellent form and captained the Under 19's to victory at World Cup. He then was the find of the IPL for Delhi Daredevils.
Both the openers scored heavily on the India A's tour of England. Shaw has youth on his side, while Agarwal has been scoring heavy rungs for few seasons. Whoever it would be India would be hoping to find the opener for the long term.
