Major Accident On The Sets Of Indian2 : 3 Died, 10 Injured including Director Shanker
In a shocking turn of events, a major unexpected accident has taken place on the sets of Indian 2. According to latest reports, three persons were killed and 10 others suffered serious injuries and are in critical condition after a crane allegedly fell on them in a shooting spot at EVP film city on Wednesday night.
As per the reports, the accident took place during the construction of a set, when all of a sudden a huge crane crashed on the ground. As a result, many people who were directly under the crane couldn’t escape on time, which led to loss of their lives and other injuries.
According to police, they confirmed that three persons died on the spot and 10 are sustained serious injuries while actor Kamal Haasan was on the spot and some of the reports suggest that director Shankar has been injured with a leg fracture.
The deceased have been identified as Madhu of 29years, a food provider, Chandran of 60 years, a food provider, and Krishna 34 years, assistant director.
A crane is believed to have crashed at the shooting spot in Sankarambakkam near Chennai, it is one of the biggest accidents that had taken place in the last decade or so while shooting for a movie in India. More details are still awaited.
The injured have been rushed to the hospital for treatment and fire fighters were deployed to clear the trash. Senior police officials rushed to the spot and an inquiry is going on. A case has been registered and investigations have started.
The much-hyped sequel of Shankar's 1996 hit movie was officially launched but the shooting wasn't taking place in a brisk manner, after a long time, the crew started work on the project this month.
It is indeed distressing to see such a massive accident on the sets. We hope that the injured crew members get well soon and may the dear ones of the deceased get strength to cope with this unimaginable loss.
