Kedhar Jadhav Wins India Asia Cup On Las
Bangladesh was cruising at 120 for no loss in 20 overs and then were 2 balls away from victory right at the end. But it was Kedhar Jadhav who stood in the way of Bangladesh in both the innings. First with the ball by breaking the opening partnership and then getting out Mushfiqur Rahim who was has been in imperious form throughout the tournament. And in the second innings, he came back to bat and win the match and the Asia cup for India after he was retired hurt midway through his innings.
Another hero for India was Ravindra Jadeja, who in the last match almost won the game against Afghanistan this time had a vital and crucial 45 run partnership with Bhuvi for 6th wicket after Jadhav was retired hurt.
In the first innings, Liton Das was belligerent and scored runs at will in making his maiden century. In a match where no other batsman scored a half-century, he scored 121 of just 117 balls. He had an opening partnership of 120 runs with Mehidy Hasan Miraz. After being at 120 for no loss Bangladesh then lost all the 10 wickets for 102 runs. There were 3 runouts along with 3 wickets for Kuldeep Yadav.
India has been getting big opening partnerships throughout the tournament but it was not the case this time as the partnership was broke for 35 runs in the 5th over. Rohit Sharma looked at his usual best until he got out for 48.
As has been with the Indian middle order, none of the middle order batsmen Ambati Rayudu, Dinesh Karthik or MS Dhoni could guide India to victory. It was left to Jadeja, Jadhav, Bhuvi, and Kuldeep. India will hope that they will be able to find middle order batsman before the world cup which is 12 months away.
