Buzz: Trivikram Not Happy With OS Deal Of AS!
If the buzz from overseas trade circles is to be believed, Trivikram is not happy about the overseas deal of Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava. Trivikram was reportedly against selling the distribution rights to LA Telugu that released Agnyaathavaasi in the overseas market. Trivikram believes that LA Telugu’s hyper aggression and very wide release backfired for Agnyathavasi. But Haarika Haasine Creations had assured of giving their next film’s rights to the same overseas distributor when they compensated the losses of local distributors. Also LA Telugu’s well planned release was the reason for Non-Baahubali premiere record of Agnyathavasi. The film grossed $1.5 Million from premieres and grossed another $500K in its complete run. $2 Million gross in US wouldn’t have been possible without their aggressive marketing and release. Wonder why Trivikram is against them. In fact he should be thankful to them for helping him to save face with a $2 Million return. Meanwhile, there are various numbers that are in circulation for Aravinda Sametha’s overseas price. Producers had plans to sell off Aravinda Sametha plus Sailaja Reddy Alludu and Sharwa-Sudheer Varma films for Rs. 21.5 crore. But no one came forward for such a hefty price tag. Finally, they sold the rights of Aravinda Sametha for Rs. 11.5 crore after quoting Rs. 14 crore. The discounted amount is the compensation for Agnyathavasi failure it seems. Other two films from their production house will be sold to other distributors. So Sailaja Reddy Alludu and Sharwa’s upcoming film are not a part of Aravinda Sametha’s deal. Rs. 11.5 crore is a good price considering NTR’s market. The film will have to collect around $ 2.5 Million in US to be a safe venture for its distributor.
