Americans Vote in midterm verdict On Trump Rule
The voting for the midterm elections in the US has begun on Tuesday which could be seen as a referendum on President Donald Trump and the outcome decides the presidency of his next two years.
Polling started in the eastern states including Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Virginia at 6:00 am and this is the Trump’s last attempt to retain majority in the House of Representatives.
Americans would elect 435 members of the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 Senate seats, 36 governors' posts and seats in state legislatures across the country in the mid-term polls. Currently, the Republican Party has in both the Senate and the House, Trump and his team are trying all ways to support his Republican Party.
According to political pundits, the Democrats have a good chance of winning the House, while the Republicans are likely to retain the Senate.
The Republicans are expected to increase their tally in the 100-Senate seat where they already thin majority. On Monday, during an election-eve rally in Cleveland, President Trump claimed that mid-term elections which were boring once now became hottest thing because of him. He asked supporters to go out on a vote because he is on the ticket.
According to a new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS, on the evening of midterm elections, democrats continue to hold a double-digit lead over Republic and in a generic congressional ballot.
