Delta Plus Variant Of COVID Is Spreading In 3 States
The 2nd wave of Covid-19 in India sees a decline in the cases. But the spread of the Delta variant that has further mutated into another strain called Delta Plus has been reported from 3-states.

The Delta plus variant is also being called AY.1 strain or B.1.617.2.1. The most noticeable fact that the new strain is resistant to the monoclonal antibodies cocktail.

But the Centre says, right now Delta Plus is a variant of interest only, it’s not a variant of concern yet.
Three states - Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala - are reporting cases of the Delta plus variant.

"Maharashtra has taken a decision regarding genomic sequencing and started the process of taking 100 samples from each district and CSIR and IGIB have been involved in this important process. 3 cases of Delta-plus variant have been found in samples collected from two Kerala districts- Palakkad and Pathanamthitta. The authorities have taken stringent actions in these areas to prevent its further spread.
