Tokyo Olympics : PV Sindhu Loses To Chinese Player In Semi-Final
India’s alone hope in badminton at the Tokyo Olympics, PV Sindhu, unfortunately, failed to qualify for the finals. The badminton star lost 18-21, 11-21 in straight sets to Chinese Taipei player Tai Tzu-Ying in the semi-finals, who will be playing for the bronze medal.
PV Sindhu led 11-8 in the first half of the first set and could not stand before the Chinese player, Tai Tzu-Ying after that and later, the second half ended in a 16-16, 17-17 draw. However, the Chinese player then won the first set 21-18, scoring consecutive points.
Tai Tzu-Ying showed her aggression from the start of the second set and showed complete dominance over Indian player PV Sindhu. The Chinese Taipei player made Sindhu without a chance with smash shots and stormed into the final. However, Sindhu will now play China’s He Bing Jiao for the bronze medal.
