Telangana Has a Bright Future in the Leadership of KCR
Chairman of Finance Commission, NK Singh mentioned that in the visionary and enlightened leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will witness a bright future for the Telangana State.
As a political leader KCR mentored with “great audacity and panache”, Singh said. He also said that the state will reap in benefits from great irrigation projects Mission Bhagiratham and welfare projects like RythuBandhu as well as other schemes of the State Government.
The Commission chairman noted with appreciation that the state, despite finding itself wagering with many hurdles it turned up with an increment in Trend Growth Rate (TGR) of capital expenditure by 27% form 2015-16 to 2017-18. State also ran quick into revenue surplus and is one of the few countries to achieve GST collections above the 14% threshold without any assistance, NK Singh exclaimed.
He also quoted that, “the GST revenues of the State are very healthy and we hope that it will grow at 20%. Coming second in Ease of Doing Business ranking in the country is no mean achievement and the TS-iPASS policy provided genuine single window clearance to attract investment s to the state.”
Addressing at the meeting, Chief Minister KCR mentioned that: "States are a lot more fiscally prudent than the centre. The Gujarat and Kerala models if development were being talked about previously. Now, it is the Telangana Model of development which has taken centre stage.”
