Rahul Pulled Up For Regret to SC
The Congress president Rahul Gandhi filed a copy of his earlier affidavit of 22 pages in response to the formal notice issued by the Supreme Court on the contempt petition filed by Meenakshi Lekhi. He told SC that he expresses complete regret for linking the SC order on the Rafale Review Petition to the Chowkidar Chor hey statement.
Rahul Gandhi's counsel A M Singhvi admitted to the top court that there were some errors in the affidavit which he produced and that the Congress president will file a new affidavit tendering an apology by Monday.
The Supreme Court allowed Rahul’s plea to file another affidavit and the court posted the matter for hearing on 6th May. However, the court did ask about the 22-page apology, along with regret of 22 pages. Also, some of the words were in the brackets especially the word Regret.
The top court stated that Rahul Gandhi made a statement and now he is justifying it.
