Mammootty Turns YS Rajashekar Reddy
We all know that Mammootty, Kerala Super Star is playing the role of YS Rajashekar Reddy in the film Yatra. Recently the film unit organized a pre-release event at Hyderabad.
Speaking at the event, Mammootty said, "It is not new to me work in the films having a political backdrop as I did many in Malayalam Movies. But this is the first time I am working in a Biopic. Generally, Biopic is made to depict the life they have gone through since their birth. But Yatra is not a whole biopic of YSR as we have concentrated to work on the crucial Part of Padha Yatra that YS Rajasekhar Reddy performed for the welfare of farmers”.
“The movie showcases how did YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s Padayatra took him close to the people, what are the problems he faced and how did he succeed to win the hearts of people”, Mammootty mentioned.
Language is not a barrier if we understand the emotional depth of the character. The movie and character have offered me enough emotional connectivity where I didn’t feel any uncomfortable with the language, Mammootty added.
Mammootty also said that he didn’t go for any research nor tried to imitate Rajasekhar Reddy. He was in his usual style and he went with the words of the Director Mahi V Raghav. It is good to hear that dubbing was also said by Mammootty.
Speaking about the director Mahi V Raghav, Mammootty said, out of 375 films he acted 70 were by new directors and Mahi who is two films old approached the hero after looking at his act in Dhalapathi.
About working in Telugu, Mammootty said after Swathi Kiranam he didn’t get good offers so that he can perform in Telugu. If the story and character have good meat he wishes to perform in any language.
Yatra movie is going to be released next week i.e. 8th February 2019 directed by Mahi V Raghav. The teaser released has brought a massive response to the movie and everyone are looking forward to watching in the big screens.
