CM KCR Announces Rs 6.9 Crore To Martyred Soldiers
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has announced Rs 5 crore to the family of Colonel Santosh Babu and Rs 10 lakh each to the 19 soldiers who were martyred in the skirmishes with the Chinese troops.
The Chief Minister will present the cheque when he will visit the family members of Colonel Santosh Babu. It will be on behalf of the state government. While the amount of the rest will be handed over to the bereaved families through the Union Defence Ministry.
KCR took the privilege of announcing it at the All Party meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conference.
“We must display the Symbol of Unity and send a strong signal that the nation is with them and their families. Our actions will instill confidence among the armed forces personnel and their families,” KCR said.
He believed that it is also the responsibility of the state government to extend their support to the family members of martyr soldiers. Furthermore, he emphasized the need for the States to provide monetary and other support to the bereaved families by reducing their expenditures even during the COVID-19 crisis.
