Will Puri And Vijay's Magic Work In Bollywood?
A lot is being written and shared about Telugu superstar Vijay Deverakonda’s Bollywood debut film Fighter, a Hindi-Telugu bi-lingual being directed by Puri Jagannath, and co-produced by Karan Johar, Puri Jagannath, and Charmee Kaur. The movie went on floors the other day in Mumbai. Puri is joining hands with ace Bollywood Filmmaker Karan Johar to make this movie Pan-India. So, the backdrop of the movie is kept as Mumbai.
This is not the first time that Vijay is trying to work market in other languages. Earlier, he tried to impress the Malayali audience with Dear Comrade and targeted the Tamil audience with NOTA but ended up disheartened both of the times. Now, Vijay is targeting Bollywood with Fighter.
Puri found his form back with iSmart Shankar, but then, if someone asks if iSmart Shankar is a perfect product, it is not true. iSmart Shankar worked for various other reasons. If the director comes up with a similar product with Deverakonda, it may not work.
The expectations of a Vijay movie will be on different levels. Furthermore, it is difficult to convince the audience in other languages. So, Jagannath has to be very careful. The good thing is that the presence of Karan Johar ensures good release and visibility in Bollywood.
