This Actress is the first choice of Jejamma in Arundathi!
It is very hard to imagine any other actress in place of Anushka Shetty for the role of jejamma in Arundathi. But so you know, Anushka is not the first choice for Arundathi!
Initially, makers contacted Manchu Lakshmi to do the role of jejamma as she already got popular as sorceress Irendri in the film Anaganaga O Dheerudu.
Lakshmi also got Nandi Award for her performance in the film. But, unfortunately, she said no for Arundathi film as she was staying abroad then.
The latter choice was Mamata Mohandas who is a dancer cum actor. As she had some health issues, she too rejected the offer.
And then Anushka entered the scene and changed everything. She convinced the whole movie team that she is the only actress who can do justice for the role.
The costumes of jejamma are too expensive and the designers were bought from Kerala. The film which was released in 2009 is still an unforgettable film to many!
