Sye Raa Bear Spray Incident: Image of Suspect Released
Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is suffering from underperformance in the US and Canada. And now, the film has suffered another major blow, after the Telugu shows in Ontario city of Canada have been canceled on Friday. A person had entered Landmark Cinemas and pulled a knife and had cut the screen. He then sprayed bear/pepper spray at the audience and left the spot. The very same incident has occurred in two places - in Kitchener and Whitby.
It is suspected that the person has targeted the Telugu film Sye Raa specifically. The police have revealed the image of a suspect in which it is stated that the person sports a thin body with a black beard. He wore a black sweater and cooling glasses too. Police have reported that no one was hurt in the incidents and the screening at those specific theatres was immediately canceled. A case has been filed and further investigation is going on.
According to the local sources, a local syndicate which includes 1 Telugu person and 3 Tamilians in Canada is said to be trying its best to cancel the shows of the film. This syndicate group is used to distribute regional films in their known chain of theatres and reports less collections. They might have feared that these new distributors may reveal real figures of the film and did everything to threaten them.
