South Celebs Coming Forward To Help Daily Wage Workers
In a time of complete shutdown owing to the coronavirus pandemic, Superstar Rajinikanth and other South celebs have come forward to help the daily wage workers of the South Indian film industry.
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, theatres across Tamil Nadu have been closed, and shoots of movies, television serials and advertisements are on hold as well.
RK Selvamani, President of Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI), issued an appeal through a PR requesting the South Indian film fraternity to provide financial help to the daily wage members of the federation who don't have an income right now.
Ever since RK Selvamani had put in a request, celebrities are leaving no stone unturned to help FEFSI members in need.
Superstar Rajinikanth has donated 50 lakhs. Suriya, Karthi, along with their father Sivakumar, donated Rs 10 lakh. It was later reported that actor Sivakarthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathi too donated Rs 10 lakh for the welfare of FEFSI members. Actors Prakash Raj and Parthipan have provided many rice bags weighing 25 kg each.
