Madhuri Dixit says ‘It’s shocking’ to replace Sridevi
Karan Johar hopes went in vain with actress Sridevi death as he planned a movie ‘Kalank’ with her. Later popular actress and Sridevi’s friend Madhuri Dixit stepping into her shoes, made Karan happy.
In an interview with PTI, Madhuri revealed that it took a long time for her to come out of sadness on hearing Sridevi demise.
"What took time was to digest the whole thing that had happened. It was so shocking, I was like 'you want me to do this role?' because even they (filmmakers) were stuck. They had to go on," she said.
To accept the truth was very difficult if I think like a common person. But, if I think as an actor, it is a different matter altogether, Madhuri said.
Speculations are doing rounds that Madhuri will be seen in the place of Sridevi in ‘Kalank’. The film also features Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in crucial roles.
