Hindi Remake Of Bhaagmathie To Be Titled ‘Durgavati’
There is great news coming out for the fans of Bhumi Pednekar, that she will feature in the Hindi remake of ‘Bhaagmathie’ in and as ‘Durgavati’. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has taken the project along with T-Series, and Director of Bhaagmathie Ashok G will also co-direct the movie taking it on the floors by January 2020.
The Telugu version of the Horror-thriller ‘Bhaagmathie’ starring Anushka Shetty was a huge hit. It also spurred Tamil and Malayalam remakes. The movie also featured Unni Mukundan, Jayaram, Asha Sarath, Vidyulekha Raman in lead roles.
Bhumi Pednekar was last seen in the Indian biographical drama ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ in which she played an elderly role alongside Taapsee Pannu. She came to limelight nationwide for her brilliant performance in the movie and gathered a lot of decent reviews about her.
When she was asked about the roles she loves to play she said, “I’m an actor. It’s my job to transform into different characters. I respect people’s opinions, and I took a step back to think about what they were saying. But I think I will continue to pick such roles because I enjoy challenging myself. And let’s not forget that there aren’t enough meaty roles written for women.”
