Civil Case Against RGV’s Murder Adjourned For Hearing
We are aware of the fact that Perumalla Pranay murder case in Miryalaguda, Nalgonda district in September 2018 has created a sensation. Controversial producer and director Ramgopal Varma is currently making a movie based on the case titled Murder.
In this aspect Amrutha, a witness in the case, filed a civil case in the Nalgonda district court on May 29 by censuring the movie as the film’s narrative is based on the outrageous honour killing where Amrutha’s father K Maruthi Rao was the accused, who has later committed suicide and killed himself out of distress.
Amrutha told the court that the case was under investigation and that the release of a movie with a fictional fabricated story could have a negative effect on witnesses, hence the need to issue interim orders to detain the film is important. She said that she is already in pain and can’t take any more unfair treatment.
Perumalla Amrutha stated that the director has not taken permission from the family in making the movie. The trailer too describe some outrageous scenes related to Pranay’s murder and the advocate Narasimha representing Amrutha’s family requested the court to send the notices via email in these troubled times. While the director defended with his stance saying it just highlights the doting father and daughter relationship.
The Nalgonda court forwarded the case to SC and ST special court and on hearing the case issued urgent notices to defendants, director RGV and producer Natti Karuna adjourned the hearing of the interim petition till August 6th.
