Weapons sale of $8 billion to Saudis-Trump
Defying Congress, US President Trump is set to complete the sale of over $8 billion worth of weapons to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan as has declared national emergency insight of the tensions between Iran.
There was a long-standing Congressional pattern for the major weapon sale, which was overlooked by US President Trump when he informed Congressional committees that he was going forward with the 22 military sales to Saudis, United Emirates, and Jorden.
The members of the committee were blocking sales of weapons for months to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as they were angry about the civilian tolls from the air campaign in Yemen. Also, they trolled Trump that there was no need for declaring Nation emergency and that Trump used this loophole to sell the bombs to Saudis and the United Arab Emirates.
The Congressional committee, as well as lawmakers, had warned President Trump earlier this week, just because he is frustrated on the theof holding of weapon sale from Congress, he cannot use the loophole of declaring Nation emergency.
