NTR Gardens And Lumbini Park Names To Be Changed
NTR Gardens and Lumbini Park are the two most popular lung spaces in the city Hyderabad, both near the picturesque Hussain Sagar, are set to undergo a major transformation in terms of design and facilities.
HMDA- Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority has invited a request for proposal for the appointment of a landscape architect to transform the task. The architect will prepare a plan and monitor the execution of the plan for NTR Gardens and Lumbini Park.
Not only this, Lumbini Park and NTR Garden are set to be renamed as Telangana Martyrs Memorial Park and Dr B R Ambedkar Park, respectively.
According to TRS close sources, the government is seriously contemplating renaming these two parks. The government is also considering another name for NTR Garden, which is NTR-Ambedkar Park.
HMDA officials said, “The existing parks would not be demolished and the makeover would be done by integrating existing infrastructure and an illumination, new design, recreational facilities, greenery, etc, will come up by integrating the existing amenities and infrastructure in these two parks.”
The sources reveal that the government is going to spend around Rs 150 cr on the statue’s installation, construction of a meditation centre, photo gallery. 125 foot tall bronze statue at NTR Garden is going to be world’s tallest statue of Ambedkar.
