KCR Hints At 15-Days Lockdown In Hyderabad
With Unlock 1.0 coming to its end, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has hinted at yet another lockdown of 15 days in the state capital Hyderabad as it crosses the 12,000 mark of confirmed cases of coronavirus.
KCR interacted with the Health Minister Eatala Rajender and officials, at his official residence Pragati Bhavan here on Sunday and reviewed the situation of COVID-19 in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and showed his concerned as he hints at a 15 days lockdown strategy.
The chief minister said that nonetheless, he would consider the suggestions from the medical fraternity for the reimposition of lockdown for 15 days. “I will call the cabinet meeting in four days and after discussing it, will make a decision,” he said, adding that for reimposition, the police department has to be prepared again.
The CM, filled with confidence exclaimed that the would require support from the people of Hyderabad He also pointed out that police and administration also need to be prepared for the new lockdown.
The CM further said, “Several issues to be taken into consideration if we decide to impose lockdown under the GHMC limits. If a lockdown is imposed, it should be implemented strictly and totally”.
Meanwhile, the confirmed cases of coronavirus in the state have reached 14419, of which Hyderabad accounts for more than 60 percent cases.
