India, Now The Third Worst-Hit Nation By Coronavirus Globally
India, on Sunday overtook Russia to become the third worst-hit nation by coronavirus in the world as it recorded a highest single-day spike of nearly 25,000 cases on the same day.
Russia has nearly 6.8 cases of coronavirus while India now has 6.9 cases of coronavirus. Health ministry reported under 25,000 cases and 613 deaths in 24 hours, the biggest daily spike of the country. The number of deaths now stand at 19,268.
The United States has registered the most number of cases so far with 27.8 cases of COVID-19 while Brazil is the second worst-hit nation with over 15 lakh cases.
In India, many states including Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh. Karnataka and West Bengal recorded their highest single-day jump in cases.
Topping the list, Maharashtra crossed the 2 lakh mark on Sunday while Tamil Nadu register 1.11 cases and Delhi also nears the 1 lakh mark. Many states in India have imposed a lockdown of 15 days in some of there major districts.
Meanwhile, A total of 4,09,083 people in India have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. The recovery rate is 60.73 percent among the COVID-19 patients. Of the total 6,73,165 cases, 2,44,814 are active cases.
