Hyderabad: Bio-Diversity Flyover Reopened With Safety Measures
After being shut for over a month following a horrific car accident, The Biodiversity flyover near Hyderabad’s Gachibowli was re-opened on Saturday.
Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan, Cyberabad CP Sajjanar, along with senior officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, inspected the flyover and had it reopened to vehicles. The inauguration of the bio-diversity flyover was done on November 4, 2019.
The expert committee has put some restrictions over the use of flyover. There is a ban on taking selfies and a ₹1100 fine for over-speeding. The speed limit on the flyover has been fixed at 40 km/hr. GHMC officials will continue to observe the flyover with the help of CCTV cameras, studying the traffic movement for at least one month. The detailed report will be sent to the expert committee for further studies.
The government has put the restrictions after the flyover encountered three accidents within a month. A special committee has also been set up to observe the working on a daily basis.
