Fancy Plate Number Cost 33% Of Mercedes Price
A Gujarat builder from Rajkot paid a whooping nineteen lakhs to Regional Transport Office to get his favorite number 0007. Builder Govind Parsana is however skeptical of his decision.
The number 7, written in Gujarati represents Lord Ganesha and Parsana is a follower of Him. But, as per the RTO rules, the builder can not write the number plate in Gujarati.
Builder quoted, “I spent Rs 19 lakhs, but RTO rules prohibit me from writing the number in Gujarati which denotes Lord Ganesha. Else, I am no James Bond fan to pay for 007 number.”
The officials say that many people spend a lump sum to get specific numbers. The maximum competition is for numbers like 1, 7, 11, 9 and 99.
Bid from Govind is the highest till now in the history of Gujarat. In another case, Upendra Chudasama, tours and travels operator, paid second-highest bid of 8.53 lakhs to get his lucky number 1.
